A simple sweet and tart blackberry cobbler with crispy caramelized edges and a crunchy sprinkle of demerara sugar on top.

Ingredients

demerara sugar

Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Cut butter into 4 pieces and add to corners of dish. Place dish into oven while preheating.
Meanwhile, combine granulated sugar, flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl and whisk together.
Remove the dish from the oven when the butter is completely melted. Pour buttermilk into the dry ingredients and stir to combine.
Pour the cobbler batter into the dish and spread it into the corners with a spoon. Sprinkle blackberries onto the top.
Bake in the oven for 45 minutes. Remove and sprinkle on the demerara sugar. Return to oven and bake for 15 minutes more.
Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
Notes
You can substitute 2 cups of any berries, cherries, or sliced and peeled stone fruits. A mix of any of these fruits works too.
