Hamburger Bun Dough

Egg Wash

  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp milk


  • Place dough ingredients into the pan of your bread machine in the order specified by the manufacturer. Run the dough cycle.
  • Flour a work area. Remove dough from bread machine and allow to rest for 10 minutes.
  • Pat dough into a rectangle, approximately 1/4" thick.
  • Cut dough into 8 strips.
  • Roll strips into balls, tucking edges underneath. Place onto a lined baking sheet.
  • Flour the tops of the buns and cover very loosely. Set aside to rise for 1 hour, or until doubled.
  • Preheat oven to 375F.
  • Beat together egg and milk. Brush onto buns.
  • Bake for 15 - 20 minutes or until golden brown. Mine always take 17 minutes.
